United Methodist Women

The United Methodist Women’s organization of FUMC shares its gift of God with others through missions. Their purpose is to grow in their understanding of God to develop a creative, supportive fellowship and expand concepts of mission through a willingness to participate in the global ministries of the church.

The unit consists of four individual circles meeting once a month, two of which have night meetings and two with daytime meetings. The unit meets the first Monday of the months of January, March, May, September, and November. The May meeting is an evening meeting with a covered dish dinner.

The program is based around four missions: Spiritual Growth, Outreach and Nurture, Social Actions, Education and Interpretation.

A few channels of undesignated giving are: World Thanks Offering, Prayer and Self Denial, World Day of Prayer, Reading Programs, Gifts in Memory and Special Recognition. Some local missions include: Shoe Fund, RAM House, Church Women United, Trinity Church Project, Bethany Hall, and Camp Alta Mons Scholarships. The individual circles have mission projects of their own choosing.
