Leadership Team

Our leadership team recognizes the authority of God, and realizes that we are shepherds who serve under the Chief Shepherd, Jesus Christ. We desire to devote ourselves to prayer and to the ministry of the Word. Our passion and goal is to equip the believers for the work of the ministry until we all attain maturity in the fullness of Christ.

Alan Combs
Lead Pastor
Alan grew up in Powhatan, VA.  After graduating from Powhatan High School, Alan attended Hampden-Sydney College, where he received his B.A. in Religion in 2004. Alan then attended Duke Divinity School, where he received his Master of Divinity Degree in 2007, and his Master of Theology Degree in 2008. Alan served as Associate Pastor of Heritage United Methodist Church in Lynchburg, VA from 2008-2011. After Heritage, Alan served as Pastor of Lane Memorial UMC in Altavista from 2011-2015 and Pastor of Front Royal UMC in Front Royal, VA from 2015-2017. Alan lives in Salem with his wife Morgan, their daughters Mary Alex and Laurel, and their son, Walker.

Adult & Outreach Minister
Born in Salem, VA and a graduate of Salem High School. Honorable discharge from US Air Force. Graduate of Criswell College with a BA degree in Biblical Studies. Ordained and licensed to full time ministry at W. Salem Baptist Church and served as full-time Youth Minister from 1993 – 96.Served as full time Youth Minister at First United Methodist Church. He received his MA in Pastoral Ministry from Trinity Theological Seminary. Bobby lives in Botetourt with his wife, Valerie and daughters, Tiffany, and Gracie.
