Children & family

Children’s Ministry places a great emphasis on implementing Christian programs with engaging dedicated teachers and volunteers to lead them. We strive to be a resource for parents and families in the nurturing of their child’s faith. Your child will enjoy age appropriate faith building programs, activities, and service opportunities. We aspire to nurture whole families in their faith as we encourage all to SEEK, GROW, and SERVE.

NURSERY

Though children are welcome in all worship services we understand there are times when you may need some assistance. Your child will be lovingly cared for in a clean and well- equipped environment. Our nursery staff provide a familiar face to your little ones each Sunday.  The Nursery is available 8:45AM – 12:00PM on Sundays.

Children Praying

WORSHIP

children’s message is offered in our 8:45AM Genesis and 11:00AM Traditional Worship services. This is a time when children are invited to gather to hear a special message from Mrs. Tricia, our Children’s Ministry Director. After the children’s message, children may go with Mrs. Tricia for a Bible lesson or they may choose to stay in worship with their family. Worship packets are provided at the entrance of the Sanctuary & Fellowship Hall. These packets contain activity and coloring pages for your child while in worship service.

SUNDAY SCHOOL (9:50AM – 10:50AM)

We have a wonderful Sunday School program, where your child can grow in faith. Our curriculum covers the entire Bible in three years. If your child comes consistently, they will learn bible verses, bible stories, the life of Christ, how to pray, why we pray, how to serve, why we serve, and how we can follow in Christ’s footsteps. As children mature, they are taught how to relate our Christian beliefs to everyday life and how to share God’s love with others.

Once a month, the children gather during the Sunday School hour for Children’s Worship in the Chapel. Each age/grade level is responsible for a part of the worship service and families are invited to observe if they choose. Milestone goals of each grade level are implemented into this worship service. In May, children are recognized with awards for their yearly faith growth.  The purpose of these award is to offer encouragement to the children to continue to grow in their faith and for these mementos to be a personal reminder of their growth.

Each year our second graders are presented with their own Children’s Bible. Our purpose is to ensure that all our children have a Bible to bring to Sunday School and have at home. We want them to learn how to use and study their Bibles both in church and at home.
