youth ministry

Impact Youth Ministry is here to provide an open, engaging and uplifting environment for our communities middle and high school students to explore and grow in their faith.

Happy Teens

Pre Confirmation, 6th Grade

This is a full year of pre-confirmation class. Focusing on the UMC and John Wesley life.  The 6th Grade Class is taught by Will Powers and Dave Prosser.

Students During Break

7th & 8th Grade Confirmation

Taught in the beginning of the year until Pentecost.  Confirmation focuses on leading the youth to take ownership of their faith and to make a decision to respond to God’s grace.  To understand that God claims us, but we are invited to say “yes” to God’s claim.  Each year on Pentecost the Confirmands become members of the church, reaffirm baptismal vows, or are baptized.

Students on a Break

9th - 12th Grade

During the fall semester the High School class will be going through the old testament with the Fathom Series.

Taught by rotating pairs of leaders through out the year.

Meet Jessica

Jessica grew up in the Roanoke Valley most of her life.  She attended Bridgewater College and graduated in 2012 with a degree in Business Management. Afterward, she followed the Lord's calling by becoming a Missionary in China for three years, working with college students.  After arriving back in the US, she wanted to continue to work with youth and began as the Youth Ministries Director in 2016.  She has enjoyed working with the youth through small groups, mission trips and other fun activities.

When she is not at work.  Jessica enjoys spending time with friends, family, and cheering on the Philadelphia Eagles!
